PSU-TUYF Interdisciplinary Youth Conference 2025

On 30–31 August 2025, the PSU-TUYF Charitable Trust Fund successfully organized the PSU-TUYF Interdisciplinary Youth Conference 2025 at the Pre-Clinical Science Building, Faculty of Science and Technology, Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus. The event was honored by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rhysa McNeil, Vice Dean for Administration, who delivered the welcome remarks, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Thakerng Wongsirichot, who addressed the welcome and aim remark. In addition, Prof. Virasakdi Chongsuvivatwong gave an overview presentation of the PSU-TUYF program.

The conference featured a variety of engaging activities, including ice-breaking sessions to foster collaboration and teamwork, project overviews presented by Principal Investigators (PIs) in diverse fields such as epidemiology, coral reef research, mud crab studies, mathematics, and seagrass ecosystems, as well as student progress presentations under the themes Living Connections in Coastal Ecosystems and When Math Meets Medicine. Participants also joined group assignments, collaborative brainstorming, and group presentations on the following day.

Furthermore, the program included reflection sessions from stakeholders, an award presentation for students, and a concluding session delivered by Prof. Virasakdi Chongsuvivatwong. The event concluded with an excursion to the Crab Lab at the Aquatic Animal Hatchery of the Agricultural Science and Fisheries Program​, where participants explored practical aspects of marine conservation and crab aquaculture.

This conference served as an important platform to enhance the capacity of PSU-TUYF students, enabling them to exchange interdisciplinary knowledge, strengthen teamwork skills, and develop research initiatives that contribute positively to society and the environment.
